At Royal Kongo Gold corporation, safety is the responsibility of our entire team.’If we cannot mine safely, we will not mine in DRCongo’. We have a committees, at the corporate and site, that oversee and audit our safety performance standard. This reflects the need to minimise any potential negative impact on our employees, maintaining safe and healthy working conditions is a key compliance issue for the Company.
As we stated in our Occupational Health and Safety Policy, Royal Kongo Gold Mining strives for ‘Zero Harm’ at all of our operations and to minimise occupational health and safety hazards.
The work on safety and wellness is integral to our operational discipline and is accepted as the foundation for improved operational performance. As such, there is no conflict between pursuing safety and productivity at the same time in our Company.
We equip our employees with the tools, training and mindset that result in continual safety awareness. From our operations to our offices, we seek ‘Zero Harm’.
We start with our practices, which have the object to ensure everyone at our operations puts the same priority on health and safety. Each employee and contractor at Royal Kongo Gold immediately begins learning about our standards and safety protocols. New employees and contractors get a minimum of 24 hours of training to learn about the hazards they might face, and the means in place to help them prevent accidents.
